Nothing like watching the two teams duke it out at this level

Sunday's sole NBA game was Game 7 between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic. Each team had won the three games on their home court. The stakes couldn't be higher as one team would advance to the Eastern Conference Semifinals to face the Boston Celtics. The other team would end their season right then and there.

Even analyst J. J. Reddick shared on high tensions are before the last game of a series. Reddick has been an excellent choice alongside Mike Breen and Dorris Burke. His expertise and connection to the game bring a whole new level to the commentary.

Overall, the game never got chippy, but amazing play from Paolo Banchero and Donovan Mitchell exposed that expertise still trumps youth at this time.

As a fan or basketball, I revel in the idea of a future NBA Finals between the Magic and Timberwolves, two of the young greats leading their teams to the highest level. Seems like there could seven epic games in that sort of series.

But as a Spurs fan I realize that Wemby will probably ruin any chance the Timberwolves have at a dynasty, and the Spurs will soon make Banchero and Orlando look like the New Jersey Nets during the Jason Kidd era.

I also felt for both teams before the final score was revealed that their ultimate reality is a prolonged timeline to their eventual demise. I don't think that anyone in the East is taking Boston out, but the prospect of the Celtics punching it out with the Knicks captures my attention.

What are your thoughts on the second round of playoffs as we turn up the heat this week.
