Warriors star Andrew Wiggins gets brutally honest about desire for revenge vs. LeBron James’ Cavs

Back in 2014, the Cleveland Cavaliers selected Andrew Wiggins as the first overall pick in the draft. Wiggins, who now plies his trade with the Golden State Warriors, never got a chance to suit up for the Cavs, though. Not long after Cleveland picked a 19-year-old Wiggins in the 2014 NBA Draft, LeBron James decided to return to his beloved Cavs after a four-year stint with the Miami Heat. Wiggins ended up being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves as part of the Kevin Love deal. “It was a tough time,” the Warriors star told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. “I can’t lie. Wiggins was hurt by the Cavs’ decision to let him go. The Warriors stud wanted to get his revenge. “I definitely had them circled on the calendar,” Wiggins said. “I knew exactly when they were coming for sure. I was ready. “I wanted to show them what they were missing, show them I’m doing better over here. That was my mindset back then. It was always fun and competitive playing a team that had traded you. It wasn’t an easy experience to go through, but I feel like that’s what kept me motivated and competitive.” Right now, though, Wiggins is playing some of the best basketball of his career with the Warriors. He’s also now just two wins away from becoming an NBA champion. As he said, he used the hardships he went through early in his career as fuel to get him to where he is today. Needless to say, Andrew Wiggins has gone a long way. The post Warriors star Andrew Wiggins gets brutally honest about desire for revenge vs. LeBron James’ Cavs appeared first on ClutchPoints.
