    It’s safe to say that Luka Magic has taken over the NBA. The Dallas Mavericks superstar is currently one of the top players in the league that is a finalist for the 2023-24 MVP Award. But more importantly, with Luka Doncic at the helm, there’s no question that the Mavericks have emerged as a legitimate title contender.

    But while Doncic has impressed fans with Luka Magic, that same magic seems to also be in full effect when he attempts the most ridiculous shots during practice. In fact, Doncic is arguably the best H.O.R.S.E. player anyone has ever seen. As the Mavericks prepare to eliminate the Los Angeles Clippers, let’s take a look at Luka Doncic’s 10 craziest trick shots caught on camera.

    10. Ceiling shot

    During the 2020 NBA Bubble, basketball players were forced to stay inside the Disneyland compound in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. With plenty of time to kill, Doncic decided to use up his free time to practice his iconic trick shots, including one off the ceiling.

    Despite the ceiling being several feet away from the basketball hoop, Doncic found a way to master hitting this out-of-this-world shot. It’s truly a difficult shot that only Doncic seems to make with precision.

    9. Halfcourt shot without looking

    While Stephen Curry makes us think otherwise, a halfcourt shot attempt is already difficult in itself. But to do it behind your back takes it to a whole new level. For Doncic, however, he doesn’t seem to have a problem with it. In fact, the shot simply hit all net.

    8. Hands-less shot

    Is it possible to make a shot without using hands? For many, it isn’t. But for the Mavericks superstar, he can just easily bounce the basketball off his shoulders. Like everyone else, Boban Marjanovic loved it. Moreover, Doncic just made it look so easy.

    7. Calling bounce

    Doncic entertains crowds whether during official NBA games or in exhibitions like the 2024 All-Star Game. In fact, Doncic even managed to surprise his teammate Derek Lively II by making a shot from the sideline. To make matters more interesting, Doncic even called bounce, which happened.

    During the offseason, Doncic continues to stay in shape by playing for the Slovenian national team. However, the Mavericks superstar makes sure to bring some Luka Magic with him. In fact, during practice, his Slovenian teammates were in awe with how Doncic uses sorcery to punch in a corner shot by bouncing off the stands without even looking at the rim.

    With also a love for soccer, it isn’t surprising Doncic can be caught kicking the basketball at times. In fact, according to reports, Doncic seems to be a huge fan of Real Madrid. However, the Mavericks superstar found a way to combine both by making a crazy halfcourt shot off a kick.

    4. Using the jumbotron

    While ceiling shots are already crazy, the All-Star guard had a crazier idea of using the jumbotron to assist in his trick shot. But in Luka Magic fashion, the shot seamlessly went in. It doesn’t come as a surprise that his Mavericks teammates admired it. It’s safe to say that the jumbotron is the least expected entity to give an assist to a Doncic shot.

    3. Behind the backboard

    Many basketball players will agree that making a backboard shot is one of the most difficult trick shots due to the angle. Thankfully, it’s rarely done in an official game. However, regular basketball players should be thankful Doncic isn’t able to do this in an official game, given how easy he does it. In fact, Doncic can somehow do it while casually catching up with his teammates.

    2. Behind the backboard bounce

    As mentioned previously, hitting a backboard shot is already difficult in itself. But during warmups, while obviously just messing around, Doncic bounced the basketball behind his back at the baseline.

    Surprising all the spectators, but himself, the shot found its way into the hoop. It’s safe to say even lucky bounces ultimately favor Doncic for reasons that can’t entirely be explained by logic.

    1. Long range layup

    If you think these trick shots only happen outside of an NBA game, think again. In a game against the Houston Rockets, with the shot clock expiring, Luka had no choice but to put up a difficult shot.

    As the trick-shot king, Doncic attempted a layup several feet away from the basket against a Rockets defender. To the surprise of everyone, including Rockets fans, the shot found its way through the hoop.
